On the afternoon of December 13, the signing ceremony for the first batch of transformation and upgrading project of Baigou luggage industry sponsored by Baigou New Town Party Working Committee and Management Committee was held in Hebei Haoming Artificial Leather Products Co., Ltd.. Zhang Tiezhu,member of the Party Committee of Baigou New Town and deputy director of the Management Committee, Jin Xuefei, deputy director of the Baigou New City Economic and Social Development Bureau, and other government leaders attended and witnessed the signing ceremony. Three design agencies and seven bags enterprises of Baigou signed a design innovation cooperation project, which started the first shot of industrial transformation and upgrading of Baigou's bag.

Baigou's bag industry is the leading industry of Baigou New City and one of the three manufacturing bases of China's luggage. The products are sold to 130 countries and regions around the world, forming a strong regional characteristic economy. However, the luggage industry has problems in the development of supply side: first, the business model is too traditional, most companies are still in the wholesale and ODM processing links; second, the company's design and development and terminal brand capabilities are obviously insufficient; third, the entrepreneur's sense of innovation needs to be improved. Baigou's luggage should be based on the current development needs, with industrial design as an effective start, to fully improve the quality and brand value of luggage, to meet the new needs of future consumption with higher quality supply. The Baigou government attaches great importance to industrial design development, arranges 50 million yuan of special funds, encourages enterprises to develop industrial design, and cooperates with Hebei Industrial Design Innovation Center to hold a design lecture and two “Design × Manufacturing” industry matchmaking conferences in Baigou to popularize the design concept, strengthen the enterprise's awareness of using industrial design, and accurately meet the design needs of the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing enterprises. They have made in-depth field research of enterprises for five times, visited more than 30 enterprises, and made suggestions for industrial transformation and upgrading. After experiencing various forms of docking exchanges, local traditional enterprises have gradually realized that industrial design is a powerful starting point for industrial transformation and upgrading. Based on the needs of enterprises, this signing ceremony shows that industrial design is widely applied to the actual role of product upgrades and brand packaging.
