In order to promote the deep integration of industrial design and industry, and boost the development of industrial design in Xingtai and Hebei Province, Yan Shi, Vice Director of Hebei Industrial Design Innovation Center, Liu Wandi from the Development Department, and Liu Jiaqi, Vice-General Manager of Hebei RITO Industrial Design Co., Ltd. went to Xingtai City to carry out research work on April 2. Under the leadership of Zhang Lihua, Director of Xingtai Industrial Design Innovation Center, and Hao Zhibo, Vice Director of Xingtai Industrial Design Innovation Center, they conducted in-depth investigations into the Cape of Good Hope International Logistics Park, Hebei Hongsheng Energy Conservation Technology Co., Ltd. and Hebei Hengchi Bicycle Parts Co., Ltd, hoping that a typical case of provincial industrial design can be created, and industrial development of Hebei can be energized by industrial design. 

01 Cape of Good Hope International Logistics Park

In the morning, the investigation delegation first came to the Cape of Good Hope International Logistics Park. The Cape of Good Hope International Logistics Park is invested and constructed by Hebei Cape of Good Hope Logistics Development Co., Ltd. It is located in the Xingtai Economic Development Zone, at the intersection of multiple expressways, adjacent to many railways such as Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, Beijing-Guangzhou High-speed Railway and National Highway 107. The traffic is extremely convenient, the geographical location is unique. By virtue of the eight core values of location, scale, supporting facilities, information, management, service, team, research and development, the Cape of Good Hope International Logistics Park has become the Shanxi-Hebei-Shandong-Henan logistics distribution center, logistics information service center, logistics industry gathering center and modern logistics technology research and test center.

The responsible person of the Cape of Good Hope expressed that due to urban planning adjustments, the development of the Cape of Good Hope Logistics Park will be affected by traffic restriction of large vehicle, environmental protection and other factors, he also expressed that the development of the logistics park will be re-planned under policy guidance in the future, and it is hoped to improve the competitiveness and influence of the Cape of Good Hope logistics park.

The investigation delegation hoped to make full use of the resources of both parties, take advantage of the location of the Cape of Good Hope, re-plan the logistics park, help the Cape of Good Hope International Logistics Park to have an advanced experience in design transformation and upgrading with industrial design, and jointly create a multimodal transport junction base to better serve the logistics business in Xingtai City and surrounding areas.

02 Hebei Hongsheng Energy Conservation Technology Co., Ltd.

Subsequently, the investigation delegation came to Hebei Hongsheng Energy Conservation Technology Co., Ltd., which is the first walling material manufacturer in Hebei province to realize the factorization, standardization and batch production of EPS modules for construction. EPS module is considered to be an ideal product for constructing green, energy-saving, thermal insulation and lodgeable buildings. It is the best product to replace traditional building materials such as clay bricks and color plates.

The responsible person of the company put forward some problems encountered by the company now and plans for future development. With rapid industrial development and frequent product update. It is hoped to build industrial parks on the basis of ensuring the development of main business, and establish a service platform that integrates the upstream and downstream industrial chains to promote the development and upgrading of the company. 

The investigation delegation put forward some suggestions on the idea of the company to build industrial park. They expressed that the company should be based on actual situation, respond to the industrial design policies of Hebei province and the local, analyze the advantages of industrial park in combination with the characteristics of industrial area, and improve the attractiveness of industrial park for other enterprises to enter in combination with the characteristics of main business.

03 Hebei Hengchi Group

In the afternoon, the investigation delegation set out for Pingxiang County, “the capital of Chinese baby carriages and the base of bicycle spare parts”. The investigation delegation investigated and surveyed Hebei Hengchi Group. Hengchi Group is a large provincial group company specializing in the development, research and production of bicycle parts, which has four wholly-owned subsidiaries. Its leading products including “Hengchi” saddles, pedals, sprocket cranks, front and rear middle axles, pins, bicycle baskets, etc. have formed a one-stop production system from appearance design, processing and assembly, and quality inspection. At present, the “Hengchi” brand bicycle parts, the famous trademark of Hebei province, have six series and nearly one hundred varieties, and the products are sold well in more than 20 provinces and cities in China and more than 30 countries and regions in the world.

The investigation delegation visited the exhibition hall and production workshop of Hengchi Group, and felt that Hengchi Group attaches great importance to industrial design. They all expressed their hope to take Hengchi Group as an example, give full play to the role of industrial design, and promote industrial upgrading and development, and expressed their expectation to have more cooperation with Hengchi Group in the future.

After this investigation of the Cape of Good Hope International Logistics Park in Xingtai, Hebei Hongsheng Energy Conservation Technology Co., Ltd. and Hebei Hengchi Bicycle Parts Co., Ltd., the investigation delegation further understood the needs of industrial design for the transformation and upgrading of Xingtai enterprises. Xingtai has many characteristic industrial clusters, including Pingxiang baby carriages, Qinghe cashmere, Nanhe pet food and so on. Industrial design has played a huge role in industrial development of Xingtai. Xingtai enterprises see the power of industrial design and hope to enhance their competitiveness and promote their development through brand building, industrial park construction, and integration of upstream and downstream resources. Hebei Industrial Design Innovation Center will work with Xingtai to energize industrial upgrading and promote high-quality economic development with industrial design.
