Inspired by the melting ice in Lapland in northern Finland, Tapio Wirkkala created the Ultima Thule series in a remote hut in Lapland in the 1960s. The medium-sized Ultima Thule glass bowl is equipped with a unique and complex bottom that mimics the rise and fall of melting ice, and can be used to hold nuts, chocolate, and candies.
