Paolo Favaretto was born in Padua of Italyin 1950, graduated from the Venice Architectural University and taught by the master of architectural design, Carlo Scarpa. He is a timeless design master in industrial design field of Italy. He is currently the representative of the Italian Design Institute in the European Design Association.In 1973, Paolo set up a design studio named after him and swept almost all the prestigious awards in the industry. Chairs designed by Paolo have been regarded as classics in the industry. A chair designed in 1973 is still in production and sales until today. In 1983, the world’s first ergonomic plastic office chair was designed to create a new era of office chairs. Favaretto&Partners Design Studio was named “The World's Best Design Firm” by NEOCON, the largest and most influential office furniture and interior decoration exhibition in North America in 2016. He supports and practices the principles of “Design for All”, designing for facilitates of disabled people, which creates a precedent for the European Union in barrier-free design. The European Union has also established industry standards for barrier-free facilities. He is regularly invited to hold regular conferences and lectures at various international design universities and institutions.
